Armasight Zeus pro 336

I've been looking into buying a thermal scope for a while now and I've really been considering one of the IR defense mkII hunters either the 19mm or 35mm but one of the nv vendors also recommended me the armasight Zeus pro 336 4-16 50mm. I will be using it for coyote hunting in mostly open fields and shooting anywhere from 30-350 yards. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I currently have a flir ps32 so I'm not a complete noob in thermal.

I have the IR MK II 19 mm and really like it. I believe the MK III is coming out soon so you may want to look into that. The MK II 19 mm has a greater FOV but probably not that good past 200 yds. The 35 mm has a decreased FOV but better for shots past 200 yards. The only thing I don't like about the MK II is no firmware updates like unlike FLIR. If I had it to do over again, I think I would have gone with FLIR. The CS with IR Defense has been very good as the CS with my FLIR products has been great also. I think you really can't go bad with either one you decide. They will all help with killing animals.

How big of a deal do you think the fov is? That is really the only thing scaring me about the armasight which is 6.5 deg fov. I'm scanning with a ps32 so I know where the coyotes are, I just need to get them in the scope for the shot.

I think the FOV really becomes an issues with the terrain you hunt in. I live where there are hay fields that can be 100 yards wide and a 100-200 yards wide. I also have tons of timber surrounding me also. I don't like shooting past 150 yards and the shots I usually have are under 150 anyways. Saying that, the wider FOV of the 19mm really works for me. I use the Pulsar 19A to scan with and my partner uses my PVS 14 for scanning also. I really like having one of use using the NV for positive ID on the coyote. It is easy for me to scan with the 19A and lower it and get back on target with the wide FOV of the 19 mm. I have 22 degrees of FOV with the 19mm. Hope this helps you, it is "a lot" of money to drop on these items so I hope my input helps you.

The perfect solution is to just buy 2 units. the 20mm and the 35mm. HAHA

Then you are good to go every time.

the 20mm REALLY shines inside 200 yards and even better inside 150 yards. The 35mm is 200-300 yards. If you only want to get 1 hog at 50 yards then the 35mm is fine. Cause they are going to run out of your sight in your scope really quick.

That is a tiny FOV, as you have learned, at night all you ever can see is what is inside the FOV. Trying to change over from the FOV of a PS32 to a tiny 6.5 FOV will be challenging at times, especially if the target moves or is moving.

Does anyone know how big of an area I would be able to see at 4x magnification at say 100yards with a 6.5 degree fov? I can't seem to find any conversions and
I'm no mathematician. Also does anyone here have any hands on experience with armasight pro series products, I can't find as much info on them as I can for IR defense, flir, and ATN.
