I get a laugh out of the "math" anti's use when trying to deter hunting. Coyote have one litter a year. If you kill a coyote, it isn't replaced in the population until birth occurs. If a coyote moves in where one was killed, it means a different areas numbers dropped by one.

...we killed 58 Females last season
So if each female had 4 pups...that's potentially 248 coyotes. Yes I understand that not all females breed blablabla. But...there is now NO dispersal...no gap filling..

It sure didn't take long for coyotes to go from a non-native species to having a negative impact on fawn recruitment in South Carolina. I'd say less than 50 years? Maybe even less than 40?

What an idiot. Yes, let's trade one problem for a larger problem. Humans are the "large predators" you seek, and we kill much more quickly and humanely than any other animal.

I read an article that said it took 2 years for wolves in Yellowstone to reduce the coyote population by 50%. So, yeah, in that regard, I would say he is correct.

High pelt prices will keep coyotes in check as well, just like in the 60's and 70's. When every farm and ranch kid can get $500 or $600 PER PELT, you know the pressure will be on, lol.

I've adjusted for inflation. One dollar in 1970 is equivalent to $8+ today.
