I read an article that said it took 2 years for wolves in Yellowstone to reduce the coyote population by 50%. So, yeah, in that regard, I would say he is correct.

High pelt prices will keep coyotes in check as well, just like in the 60's and 70's. When every farm and ranch kid can get $500 or $600 PER PELT, you know the pressure will be on, lol.

I've adjusted for inflation. One dollar in 1970 is equivalent to $8+ today.
