Asbestos question???

littletoes hit it on the head, i am aslo certified in asbestos abatement. Sounds like most of the fun stuff you are dealing with is classified friable asbestos, you need to take more extreme precautions with it than with non friable asbestos, if you are going to mess with it yourself i would definately invest in a full face respirator with the purple hepa filters and keep a piss pump with dawn soap mixed with water close by and keep every thing wet, hope this helps some

I kow exectally where you are comming from littletoes!!

But I wont get into a discussion with you about it here. We could get way off topic /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I will agree with everything you said tho. I have worked in areas where we ran into some nasty stuff that used to be used here in the good ole USA. If ya got it on you it would make your grand kids have three thumbs.

Couple really nasty items that could be used to make big boombs too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I didn't see anywhere where anyone answered the question about the Metalbestos chimney and I found this forum thread by wondering about the chimney myself, so I figured I'd answer even if it's 10 years too late

"Selkirk Metalbestos pipe does not contain asbestos, Metalbestos is simply the model of pipe."

According to https://www.rockfordchimneysupply.com/metalbestos-components
