when this was first reported, it had been reported that the shooter, Hasan, was dead & that there were 2 other suspects.
That doesn't put people in mind of one nutjob, it makes them think of a conspiracy. With an islamic sounding name & reports that multiple assailants may have been involved, it's not unreasonable for people to think that just maybe it was a muslim ramage involving multiple muslims.
Now we're told that the other 2 have been cleared & he was acting alone. What the real motivation was is in question, but yelling 'Allahu Akbar!" when he started out sure sounds like an islamic terrorist attack to me & I'm thinking a lot of other people.
from what I've read, which of course doesn't mean it's accurate but is what's been reported, he had looked for or obtained an attorney, but not to get out of the Army. He wanted to not be deployed to Iraq. It reads as if he wanted to stay in the Army but not be deployed.
So I dunno. Muslim attacking our guys so he wouldn't have to go over & fight muslims? A coward who wanted suicide by cop so he wouldn't have to face what he thought might be worse over there? Other?
