With a statement like that, at least suggest something as an alternative.

I have nothing to compare ATN to, but the Gen III ATN that I've looked through was more than capable. Held zero, very bright, plenty clear. I'm not sure what the kind of lemons other people have bought, but my experience was good.

i've used ATN for about ten yrs now, and have nothing i can complain about, always has performed great for me. This scope is for sale.

Depends on the persons budget. I'd personally would buy ANY Gen1 NV, to me, it's a waste of $$$. I'd setup to at least Gen 2.

With NV being so $$$$, the average person would have to save for quite a while for good Gen 3. I'd suggest saving your pennies if you're serious about buying a good NV unit.

ITT PVS14
Mum-14
D740
D760

I run two ITT PVS14, Gen 3, Pinnacle/auto gated.

completely agree with saving the dollars for a gen 3, i jumped in yrs ago and got a gen 1, mistake... should of just waited, and payed for the better gen 3.

skinney - I saw the NV and the suppressor and was wondering 'what else'? Then I saw the beta...nice!

Thermal would be nice, played with a few thermal units before. Guess I can only wish till they come down in price...

I am looking at the $400-$600 Gen 1 ATN's and for my purpose of 0-75yd hog hunting I think they would work fine. Can't predator hunt at night but game wardens gave us permission to hog hunt at night because they are spreading like a wild fire.

Gen 1 is completely useless unless you've already had it bought and paid for for 3-5 years. You can get Gen 1 toys for your kids at Walmart.

If anyone is considering buying new or used...Gen 2 is a minimum, and Gen 3 is more than highly recommended.
