ATV CAMO

I need to camo my ATV. I was thinking or using a cloth type camo tape then coating it with a clear lacquer of varnish for a PERMANANT finish.
Any paint EXPERTS with suggestions on lacquers or varnishes for a good job? Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks

DEFCON,

More than likely the solvents in the reducers for thinning lacquer or enamels will soak through the cloth and attack the adhesives on the tape. Also lacquer type solvents might attack the plastics used for the fenders on ATVs. It will not be fun getting the mess off. As far as a varnish you would probably have the same problems and the UV protection is not that good and would start flaking off in a short time unless you keep it garaged or covered. Spar varnish like the type used on wood trim on boats would be more weather resistant but usually needs to be redone every year or so. You probably have better luck with a Camo Clad type product. It is sold in kit form and comes in various size sheets.

Why not use something like CamoWraps? Same stuff used on Byron Souths truck and comes in many different patterns.

There are multiple options for camo on an ATV. Plenty of camo kits available in almost any popular pattern. My favorite is Natgear by Moose. It is made from Cordura nylon cut to fit, then clips on around the fenders. they also have seat & pod covers. Camo cordura can be purchased on the web or you can buy a base color the spray paint it to a pattern you create. It would take a few hours to cut, fit, trim and clip but looks good. Moose also has a camo tape kit. Now they even offer camo tires where the colors are molded into the rubber. I thought that was what mud worked for. http://www.gchonda.com/eshopprod_cat_2747-9657_product_322424.NATURAL_GEAR_CAMO_FENDER__POD.htm http://www.hondapartsworld.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=243&Page=2 http://www.goodyearatv.com/rawhide_camo.html
