RayB: For the knowledge of the real sound, thank you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Everything else... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif where do I start with all the illegal/unethical/stupid reasons this guy needs a serious butt-whippin'??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif

I guess I'll settle for this one: /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
This guy is such a masterful /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif"hu-cough-er" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif, that he sends children to fetch the remains /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif...because he thinks he has to vid tape this stupidity!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gifOr is he just that frickin' lazy!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif
Oh, and, although the kids are wearing orange...I'd bet not a soul in the group has a hunting license or has taken Hunter's Safety, including "The Big Hu-er".. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
[I just can't bring myself to call this guy anything but an idiot/poacher]. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

Are you not getting what people here are saying? It has nothing to do with the hunting part, but everything to do about teaching a child how to finish off a game animal apprpriately. A 60lbs child gently stepping on the head of a rabbit is certainly not appopriate. Instead, what the adult at the end finally does is alot more appropriate. Smash his head into something hard to make it quick, not take 10-15 second grnding his head into the cement only to find it's still alive.

I'm all for shooting rabbits and I'll even confess to doing some things that others would most likely find distasteful but what kind of a MORON video tapes his barbary and posts it on a public forum. That guy needs a good a$$ kicking.

Trop,
Actually, I don't think even he knew the humane way to dispatch a wounded rabbit. Stepping on the head isn't the best way to accomplish the deed. If you step on the neck, tight against the skull, and pull up on the back legs you'll break the neck very quickly. In fact, you can pull the head off surprisingly easy. Takes all of about 2-3 seconds for the entire operation and it's done quickly and about as humanely as can be. His head stomping, and then the "swinging and bashing" method leaves a lot to be desired IMHO.

That's something I'd give up a day of calling for. I've always been fascinated with falconry...just never did it.

I've been lurking here for a couple of months and finally couldn't stand not being able to reply, so I'm now signed up!

Noticed this post- I'm a licensed falconer, too, since '85. The first time my redtail caught a bunny and I heard it squeal, I thought to myself "Hmmmppfff...that ain't a very good call!" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif LOL... When I started catching jacks with the Harris' hawks, that was another ear-opener. Definitely educated me.

Tony- I"m sure there's some falconers in your area. Easy to hook up with one and go hawking. Most guys are pretty open to sincerely interested fellow hunters going along and helping to beat the bush!

Haven't seen the video link, don't plan to.
