I just paid $225 for installation of a match grade barrel on my gun. This price includes return shipping and handling & insurance for the whole gun in it's case. I also paid $330 for the barrel. Total $555.
Best I can say is check this out with some of your local gunsmiths. With everything increasing almost on a day by day basis that's where your going to get the straight dope.

It is a factory 700vs barrel. How hard is it to do yourself? What tools are needed?
Here's a good way to find out what you need and how it's done. I could go into a long explanation, but seeing what rebarreling entails is well worth the cost of this 121 minute DVD. The plus is if you do decide to do it yourself this is all the info you need.
If you want to rebarrel at home I'd suggest you look closely into the Savage bolt action platform. Rebarreling one of those can be done in your shop with nothing more than a barrel nut wrench, a barrel vice and a go headspace gauge.
