FWIW,
Couple of months ago, went to throw something in one of our private ranges trash cans on our firing line and noticed a 50 rd box of Hornady .223 steel case ammo in it. Curious, picked up the box to read it and noticed there were five or so rounds in it that had not fired.....light primer strikes. Spent cases of the Hornady had much better primer strikes.
Happened to have my Marlin X rifle heavy barrel .223 with me, so I tried these Hornady steel case rounds in my rifle at a hundred yd target. I had shot some nice groups with the rifle already using my reloads. All these Hornady steel case fired for me and was kinda surprised by the decent group the ammo shot. Group certainly wasn't as good as my reloads that day, but still pretty decent.
