I am looking for information on hunting Coati in S. E. Arizona. I have not had any luck finding a hunting guide who will reply to my emails...does anyone out there guide for these creatures or know someone who does?! I would really like to have one to mount in my house. Thanks!
P.S. if you dont know what a Coati is, they are a member of the Raccoon family, and are legal to hunt in AZ. Check them out on google.com

Good luck! The last time I saw one I saw a pair in an old mine air shaft in '74. That was the old Tumco goldmine in Imperial Valley off Olgilby Rd.They really are good looking animals for a mount.

They are a night dweller.

You will need to hunt in the deep canyouns where there is water and food.

Here in my area they can be found in French Joes Canyoun and serounding hills and canyouns.

But do not try to get in to them now because of the fire danger the Game floks will chase you out.

Waite for a little rain before going after them.

I think he ment game folks...like wardens..?
we used to feed them (THE MUNDIS, NOT THE WARDENS.) when we were kids..
we'd leave a plate of cut up fruit on a flat rock
and they would come out at dusk to get it..
id bet that if you find them.. youll find an
area that is full of them.. they like each others
company when young.. adults arent as social..
