b-square or aimtech saddle mounts for an 870

I have a red dot scope (non tube design) and I installed the bsquare mount, but the sight sits very high, so high that My jaw lays on the stock, not my cheek. Has anyone here used or is currently using an aimtech saddle mount. On midway it looked like it sat lower to the shotgun reciever than the bsquare did.........

Tell you what- If you can find a single side mount that mounts on the left side of the reciever, I go for that one. A good friend tears his trigger finger knuckle up pretty bad from the saddle mount diggin in to it. Hes ground it down quite a bit, but its still noticably there, and it still bites him from time to time.

I know everyone cant have this problem, cause you see the saddle mounts everywhere- its just something to consider.

Personally- my 870 supermag is drilled and tapped.

Remington has a cantilever rib mount Picks. I have one on my 870 with a red-dot mounted to it. The sight is low to the receiver and I am very satisfied with the set up.

And go up to at least #8 screws. Why the firearms industry is still using #6 screws is a mystery to me, just tradition I guess?

It would have to be done in a mill or at least a jig of some kind. Anybody who has a mill would have everything needed except maybe the tap. Gunsmithing screws are a non-standard thread.
