I'm back after a long absence.
Let me explain the setup first. I have my .22 magnum setup on a tripod pointing in a good direction, scope on standby (AGM 19-256) and an AGM TM 160 on another pointing in another likely spot. I have an Android tablet for each on my coffee table and can see whats going on outside from the comfort of my couch. It takes me about 20 seconds to get my old self up,out the back door and on the gun.

Well I see one right where I want and expect it and jump up and head to the back door. In those few seconds another one appears that I don't know about because I am en route to the back door.

You can see the second, larger one spooks at the slight sound I made opening the door. Again at this point I am unaware it's there at all. I didn't know until I reviewed the tape later. You can see it exit stage right after the shot.

Well even a blind hog finds an acorn every now and then. A young female around 25 lbs, made it 15 yards.

I have not used the call yet, just being patient and trying not to educate them. There is a large black one in this group. There are at least three left.

Thanks, I have a couple trail cams out and got a pic of a really big black one several weeks earlier. I was having problems with Armadillos tearing my yard up so I got my setup together. I got two of them but was seeing the yotes cutting through so game on lol.

Quite an ingenious setup ya got there K1
Thanks, I'm not real tech savvy but I figured out I could use a tablet to monitor the thermals using the APP. Before that I was using my phone and had to switch back and forth which was a pain. So I got 2 tablets for around $30 each, that freed up my phone for instant alerts from my 2 cellular trail cameras LOL. All in all I got 4 travel routes covered. Not bad for an old Boomer
I watched last night from 9:30 to 3 AM with nothing going on. I'm waiting on the right situation to hit them at dawn with the call and my shotgun. I'll get them sooner or later.

I thought about the driveway alarms. I have a lot of deer that come and go and that thing would be dinging all the time lol. My grandson lives with us and comes in from work around 2:30 AM Monday thru Thursday which wakes me up anyways so I don't mind the sit. I got them right in line with the TV so if something comes through I see it. I failed to mention that I have both thermals on battery packs and they can run all night if needed. I was surprised at how cheap the tablets are. I plan to use one to cover my 6 if I go out some where putting it on the ground out in front of me so I don't have to cover a 360 area.

Well it's been a while and I have only seen a couple coyotes.

Last night I had a PERSON on my property! I was so caught off guard that I didn't hit record, I jumped up went to the back door and hollered at him and he took off out into the woods. The woods behind my house are pretty thick and I could hear him crashing through for over a minute. All of that property is Army Corp land that I have a permit to use it. Technically it is public land so I have no right to say anything, however folks can't trespass on my property to access it. My back property line is a good 400' from the road so you don't just happen to be passing by at 10 o'clock at night. I've lived here for 30 years and have had little to no problems, I've had a boater or two run out of gas at night come to the house (usually they are drunk) in the summer time but that's about it.
I called the police and they came out and looked around. I wanted it on the record in case somebody house got broken in to. I have neighbors that only come down on the weekends so I was afraid for there property more than my own. I'm sure I scared this guy pretty good so I doubt he'll be back. Overall a pretty weird situation. I'll be more mentally prepared in the future. I guess you never know whats lurking around in the dark.

A shot in the ground would have lit the after burners :ROFLMAO:
If he would have seen from my side he would have had a heart attack! He literally walked right trough my cross hairs! I'm used to deer, rabbits, coons and such so when I see a heat signature I don't freak out. But this just totally caught me off guard.
