BAITING FOR COYOTES

I had some dog biscuit treats last winter that my dog didn't care much for. I put them out about 200 yards where I could watch them from my house and on the third morning shot a coyote off them. He must have had friends because something cleaned up the rest of them.

Later on I put out some dog food and put my trail camera by it and got some pictures of a red fox eating it. The dog food soon "melts" though if it gets much rain on it. The biscuits last longer.

I buy pork hock's drill a hole through them and use bailing wire to secure them around a tree or limb.

Also have bought those big packs of cheap hot dogs and sliced them thin and put them by the hock's to keep diggin through weeds keeps them on trail cam.

I suppose a good PVC gravity type deer feeder with dog or cat food wood do fine. If the dog food got wet it may be a problem.

Really they seem like possum or coon and once comfortable will go for an easy meal.

I just wrapped some hock's to a tree sunday.
