He he he. Most of my shooting is done after midnight, usually around 2:00 to 5:00 AM and I am generally sound asleep in a warm sleeping bag on top of a memory foam mattress. Getting my eyes open enough to see to shoot is the hardest part. Lol.I love it! Much nicer setup than what I use. Feeding a wood stove quietly takes practice. I like that chair too but sitting in that thing and being nice and warm I'd be asleep in no time

Chunky looking critter right there.I have had a couple "regulars" stop by but the black one eludes me.
I've had no luck with a heater in the box at the bait site. They either don't come or bugger before I can get a shot off. Obviously they smell something they don't like when I run the heater. This year I got a heated jacket and made it 3 1/2 hours before my toes said go home dummy in 10 degree weather.

I place my blinds so coyote can't easily (comfortable for them) circle. Buddy heaters are almost silent, I do turn to pilot light on nights with very light winds. The rechargeable camping fans do make a low noise, it gets turned off. The woodstove fan(heat generates electricity to run fan is quieter than camp fan. No switch, hasn't been an issue.

We have had foggy, light rain nights and switching winds for a week+. Last night conditions seemed ok for 8pm- 2am ish. Off to a blind. Heard a small group of coyote SW about a mile away. A hour before moonrise I did 4 challenge howls out the window towards group. Rifle out the window ready for about 20 minutes. Shortly after moonrise, fog started building. Opened up setup rifle intending to call again. I panned around and saw one mousing the hayfield a couple hundred yards away(west of the bait). I focused on the coyote and grabbed my squeaker. A few squeaks and grabbed its attention and it slowly advanced my direction. I was having a tough time deciding if there was hay/grass in the path of the bullet. So I waited. After 10-15 minutes I noticed the coyote would stop mousing (it caught 2) and either look my way or look towards the bait. I panned over to the bait, 3 were trying to pull off some venison off the frozen roadkill. I waited a short time as they were moving quite a bit. Had two lined up, tried for the 2fer. But the 50 gr SX will not past thru at 130 yards. Heavy fog was already rolling in.

Moved the thermal to a 22-250 today, Nosler BT usually exit. Ready for 2 to line up. Have a different bait to sit on tonight.

Last night we had NW wind(15-30mph) and snow, I decided to go, hoping for an early visit. About 6:30pm camera sent pic to phone. I couldn't see anything but snow/hayfield in the pic. Opened the window, setup rifle and scanned with the thermal. East of the bait about 50' was a small coyote scavenging from the eagle/crow leftovers. Made a couple adjustments to thermal settings to improve the image. As I did the coyote moved over to check the new roadkill deer. After a few minutes she stopped and gave me a good broadside look(140 yards). Trying the 22-250 with 40 gr Nosler BT, I don't have a rangefinder so looking for max point blank range. No exit, but appeared the bullet drifted 1-2" in the strong quarter wind(bait is directly south of blind).
