Ballistically Matched Reticles ?

I personally like scopes with BDC reticles and use them just about as much as my knob turning glass. The key to anything is practicing at known yardages and knowing where your rifle impacts with the reticle. I have a cheat sheet printed out with the basic design of the reticle and yardages noted at each line attached to the inside of my scope cover.

In my opinion you're just as well off doing that as knowing "exact" come-ups for your more "tactical" scopes. I know of very few people who do anything other than note MOA adjustments for 100 yard increments and in that case it is virtually the same as using a BDC reticle proven at known yardages.

Well, I've got a scope on the way with a BDC reticle, and turrets.
I figure I'll zero the top reticle for 200, and have a PBR around 250 with the load I'm shooting. The BDC should be good for shots past that when I don't have time to twist a turret. If I do have time to twist a turret, I'll have a cheat sheet of my precise turret settings (for my top reticle) out to 600, which is further than I ever expect to shoot at a yote.
If I switch the scope to a gun of a different caliber that doesn't correspond well to the BDC, I just zero for the PBR of that caliber, and then zero the turrets for longer shots on the top reticle.

Any reason that won't work?

Dang!
I think everybody got mad and went home.
