Banshee

So I purchased a banshee from F&T last week. Had 100 sounds programmed to it. All the coon sounds are located in the fox category, Bobcats vocals are in the coyote category. Is this normal? The call is way too big. Won't fit with all my gear in a backpack. I usually have been 100% satisfied with every foxpro product I've bought over the years, but this one has been a big let down.

Did you have it programmed by FNT or was it done by Fox Pro? Either way I don't see that as a "big let down". You can very easily move the sounds yourself. As for the size, it is the same as my CS24 which I don't feel is "way to big". If it wont fit in your back pack with all your gear, I would say you have to much stuff in your back pack. It should easily fit even in a small back pack. Not researching the size is your fault, not Fox Pros.

It was programmed by F&T as far as I know. As far the size goes I was told it was one of the smaller calls in the price range I was looking for. I wasn't expecting a scorpion size call! most of the calls I looked at in person were way bigger than the banshee. $300 for a call that's not programmed right is a huge let down! I've been looking for a new call for over a year now and there was no way I was going to buy China junk like most of the other brands offer. I think foxpro is going in the wrong direction with these newer calls !

what are you talking about. there are at least 4 or 5 foxpro models smaller than a banshee.

what in the world were these callers you looked at that were way bigger than a banshee?

Shockwave and some other truck mounted contraption... Which ones are smaller so I know what to buy when I get this mess sorted out?

I'll have to pass on that ! I never did care for the spitfire case. Too much hollow space inside the batteries that tended to make too much noise. They don't sit well on tree branches either.

Sounds like someone goofed when programing yours. Easy fix with the FoxPro Programmer though, just go in and move everything around to where you want it, or make your own categories.

As others said, this isn't big either. This is small in my opinion. I have my small hunting pack, fits nicely in the top of it. When I get out of the field, I have some 550 cord looped through the base, and I just carry it with me for quick setup, no issues at all.

Not sure how much you have in your pack, you what you consider big, but by all means, this isn't big.

Hopefully I can get a refund on this on this and try to find an old scorpion on fleabay. If I can't I'll just use hand calls. I'm not paying out this kind of money and while having to program the dern thing and lug it up and down the hills and hollers...

Leadbelly, I sincerely hope you will end up satisfied. The elements you seem to be complaining about are things that most people praise, especially being able to program their ecaller, add or remove sounds, and arrange them in categories. You sure do have a right to your opinion though, and your opinion is all that counts in this case.

Thanks bub! If I get my money back from F&T I'll be 100% satisfied.

So I got the call back from F&T today. Apparently the foxpro rep will not allow a return/refund for this product and I haven't even turned on the speaker. Real great CS foxpro

If F&T sold it why would they need approval to take it back. I think there is more to this than is being told. You want to blame Fox Pro for it being bigger than you wanted, that is your fault for not doing research. The sounds being in the wrong folder is no big deal and can be fixed by you in just a few minutes. Next you complain and say Fox Pro wont take it back when you actually bought it from FNT. Sounds like you just want to bad mouth Fox Pro when the issue is with you not them.

I complained enough that foxpro called F&T up and finally ok'ed the refund. I wish these guys would go back to making good calls in all sizes, ready to go right out of the box. Instead they're selling cheap calls with fancy remotes to compete with the Chinese junk flooding the market.

I found a couple scorpions for sale on eBay and one on Amazon. Not really sure I'll buy em now after this ordeal. Think I'll stick with the hand calls...

Foxpro is the only ecall company I've used besides one WD. I've been pretty happy with them. The oldest calls I bought from FP were seven years ago, I had zero issues with them. I'm not bashing them. I'm very unsatisfied with the current lineup. It took a year of me browsing and asking guys that use these calls what would fit my requirements.

They need to offer a high quality preprogrammed compact call with up to 200 sounds and they'll get my business back.
