Yes, they reduce fouling to a minimum, but they are also supposed to reduce pressures by quite a bit.
To the OP, I use Barnes exclusively for big game, and have since about 1992. They work great. For your application, I would suggest trying the 45gr TSX. It is more than enough for coyotes. I use the 45gr XLC (blue) bullets in my 22 Hornet for coyotes. It seems to 'up' the performance level of the Hornet to a 223 on game.
