Tim that sling looks interesting.

Have you posted a review somewhere of it? or can you tell me how it has worked out for you?

My main concern would be that I use the sling to help steady myself when shooting by snugging the rifle to me (kind of like CMP shooters). Can you still do this or would it be too difficult?

Can't say I've ever used one. I know Tim(tt35) and his son (Verminator2) use them. A few others on here do,IIRC.

I did exactly this when I ordered my Bartlein 243win. I asked what the longest standard blank was finished at and was told 28" from a 30" standard blank. I got the Remington Varmint contour finished at 28" with 3" of no taper on the chamber end for setbacks. I figured, worst case, if I have it set back and take an inch each time from each end, I can do it 3 times and have a 22" 243 before buying another tube. My rifle is strictly for paper and varmints so I'm not walking with it as much as my calling guns. While it weighs 15 lbs+, I do carry it several miles varminting with breaks in between hikes to glass. As you might guess, not much muzzle blast from this tube and it is pretty mild on my ears
