Barrel life on .223?

After looking at what I would call a short life on the .243, what can a person expect from a heavy barreled .223? I would say that my favorite one has a little under 2000 rds. through it.

Don't know. My heavy barreled .223 is fast approaching the 1500 round mark and still shoot's like new and cleans right up one fouler always seems to fall right in with the rest. I could go and shoot it some more and get back to ya. Really though with some of the cooler ball powder's and reasonably hot load's .223's Seem to last forever.I have talked to many a match shooter that put's thousands of rounds down range and they have claim's of close to 10'000 rounds thru there AR's so you and me will just have to see.

Shooting NRA matches, which are hard on barrels because of the rapid fire stages, the 223 is good for 7-10,000 rounds. In a hunting rifle, if you do not heat up the barrel much, 15-20,000 would not surprise me. But if you are shooting an AR and like to "rip off" 30 round mags, you could destroy a barrel in no time at all.
