Center Point is not a brand that comes to my mind when some fellow range member asks me to make a recommendation on a brand scope to buy.

But, have owned a Center Point 4-16 for over 7 years now. On way home from a gun show one day with a well used rifle that needed some tender loving care and a scope, I stopped at my local Wal-Mart and bought the Center Point for it. Yep, I certainly own scopes with better optics, that are better regarded brands. Since then a fair number of rounds have been shot with it mounted on various rifles. FWIW, my Center Point holds zero. Its turrets are reliable and the darn thing won't give me an excuse to throw it away.

Thanks to all that responded, even the sarcastic ones, lmao.
Being a veteran of internet forums I knew I was probably going to hear exactly what I got here, I wasn't spending enough money lol
I really do appreciate the advice!

No...you spent the money incorrectly. Better optics and mechanics for similar money.

My good buddy has a 6-24 Barska on his 17hmr and it holds zero fine. We always compete with one another for smaller groups and he has never had a problem with it. I use a Nikon Buckmaster 6-18 and he gives me a run for my money. Unsure of clarity of his Barska, but he has had it for several years now.

Exactly...

There are genuine bargains in the optics world...the Chinese sourced Vortex Crossfire ain't one of them.

I'll never understand how/why one will go with a Chinese product over one from the USA. And before anyone says anything, yes I know the glass in Leupold is not domestically sourced.

Don't hand me this American made BS, because we all would be hard pressed to buy goods made only in the USA, from the clothes you wear to the car or truck you drive, best we can hope for these days is Assembled in the USA,,,

Everything, including mouse traps, are available US made.
You're not going to find it in the big boxes but it is
there if you're looking.

I said I wouldn't argue about buying American, in this day and time you would find it hard to purchase nothing but American made products, and where would you draw the line concerning how much of it is made in the USA, if you want 100%, good [beeep] luck. Your Leupold, your Ford, your Chevy or Dodge even your Harley Davidson isn't 100% American made.

Edited to add: Gerber knives is a perfect example, American company and American made for years, these days about 50% of their knives are made outside the USA and Vortex is a Wisconsin based company with they say 140 employees.

Good luck surfing this forum on a made-in-the-USA cell phone…

Your absolute assertion that "everything" is made here is factually incorrect.

or pc, or laptop, tablet... etc.

heck many f the devices dont even have parts all made by the same manufacturer.

Samsung was supplying the screens for the iPhone for a long time, just as an example.
