Basics of training a decoy dog

I was wondering if someone can just lay out the basics of what do to to train a decoy dog?

The issue is, I've got a female German Shepherd, 10 months old and about 65lbs. She is very high drive and can be agressive towards other dogs. I figured I would start her out on some stands just calling and keeping her close and letting her get the feel of what's going on. Then I don't know if I let her out to chase the coyote down and recall her by beeping her back to me..?

I know a GSD is not the ideal type of dog for coyote decoying but it's all I have, and the wife wont let me get another dog (we have 3 German Shepherds). Is it even a good idea to get her started on this type of work? She definately needs a job though. Thanks for all the help!

Its worth a try. Aint no right or wrong type of decoy dog. Ive always thought any dog will do it if you show em enough coyotes. Most folks use Curs but that dont mean nothing. Take her and see what happens. If she will engage let her go. Give her a chance the first time to see how far she chases it. If she is going out of the country then tone her back. Remember though, this is not the best time of year for teaching a dog. You can always run into the right coyote that will work but dont be frustrated if she just runs them off. Good luck.
