battery life for fx3

I have a fx3 that is really hard on the batteries I can only get a couple of hours of play on a new set of duracell or energizer.I only use 1 speaker at a time. I have tried the rechargeable duracell with about the same or less play time. The weather has been very warm here so nothing under 35. Any thoughts or is this normal? Thanks.

Not normal for me. I can get 3 days of stand after stand calling with mine. Here lately we've had nothing but 35 degree and below temps. Don't know enough about the power supply to give you an accurate diagnosis of this problem. If you don't want to call foxpro, just take extra batteries. And NEVER leave home without your mouth calls. Takecare, and be safe.

1eyedjack,

How long have you had your FX3 for? When we first released the FX3 last year, the early units were detecting battery voltage incorrectly. This has been revised since last year. If yours is an early unit, you can send it in, and we can upgrade it for you, of course at no charge. If it is a unit purchased recently, check for proper battery orientation (I know it sounds like it couldn't happen, but I have seen it many times). Also, make sure the rechargeable batteries you are using are a good NiMH battery with a high mAh rating. The higher the rating, the greater the capacity of the battery.

Mike Dillon-- How does an FX3 owner tell if his FX3 is the "earlier model" or not??? Can one tell by looking at the Serial #????

Thanks

Silverfox,

Your unit could still be one of the affected models, even with battery covers. If you shoot me an email to mike@gofoxpro.com with your serial no., I can check it first thing Tuesday morning for you. Have a Merry Christmas!

Mine is pretty short on runtime also. I use both speakers and will get about an hour and a half runtime, maybe two hours....JOHN
