Bear Creek Arsenal 22-250 AR

They have it priced aournd $700.00, complete rifle. I've seen the utube stuff, some hate them and some like depending on the caliber. I'm only interested in the 22-250 and if it worked for them or not.

My brother got one a couple years ago. Thought it would be a perfect combo of AR platform and semi auto, and flat shooting 22-250.

SS barrel. The barrel metal seems to be a different alloy. It's more shiny than other stainless steel barrels I have. Stock trigger is pretty rough, but works. Side charging handle is cool and functions as expected.

He bought it, we threw a scope on it and a .308 suppressor. Sighted it in. Shot about 1" group at 50 yds. Only fired about 15 rounds through it. I think it cycled fine. Took it coyote hunting later the same day. No shots fired in the field. Put the rifle in the safe and haven't fired it since. He's talked about wanting to work with it more, but just hasn't gotten to it yet.

A close friend of mine came across a Palmetto State much like that, paid $625 for it... sat in his safe for 4 years, until I bought a scope for him and sighted it in... It was 1/2 MOA at 100 with factory soft point winchester ammo... gave it back to him and he plans to hunt deer with it only. No predators. For his purposes, it functioned and shot well enough for him to use it as it came.

In this case, given what we know about the finicky nature of the 22-250 in the LR308 pattern of rifles, if they don't have a modified magazine for it, I'd be pessimistic from the get go. I'll let others chime in on the specific one you mentioned.

I purchased a 243 from them at the beginning of the summer and it’s very accurate. I went the 243 route for the feeding. The ar10 was designed for a 308. The 22-240 has a tapered case and you’ll need to get special expensive mags. I saw several videos where their firing pins were breaking so I ordered a new firing pin for mine and swapped it out.

I had some issue with a .204 polymer magazine, and I used a file to remove some material to achieve suggested dimensions, worked great! this might help someone "tune" your magazine if you're having feed issues.
