Bell/Carlson Stock

While I was away on vacation, my girlfriend picked up a Bell and Carlson Varmint/Tactical Stock in the Bargain Cave of Cabelas. It was marked Remington 700 LA BDL, and she knew thats what I had been looking for. But, apparently, it was miss marked. Can't blame her for trying. The action screws are 4 1/4 inches apart, with the screw in front of the trigger guard and does not have the floor plate opening, etc. Is this for a Rem ADL...I dont have one to get any comparision off of??? Its not doing me much good, so if anyone is interested in taking it off my hands after we fiqure out what it fits, let me know.

A Savage short action is 4.250 center to center, might be for a Savage. I returned one to Cabela's a few months ago, would'nt fit the new model Savage I had. Some of the new Savages with the center feed won't fit the older model stocks. If you can, check and see if it for a Savage, I might be interested in it.

JP...apparently thier policy is "bought as is-no return" on Bargain Cave items. Even though tey are the ones that mislabled it!!

Psycho....Yeah....I measured the screws on my Savage 300 WSM and its 4.25 in. But, and this being the first aftermarket stock that I have fooled with I might need a lil guidance here, there are 3 screws on the bottom of my Savage, two for the trigger guard, and one at the front of the action. This B C stock has only two holes on the bottom, so whats the deal???

One of the trigger guard screws is probably just a wood type screw to hold the trigger guard in place. With out looking, I'm guessing its probably the one farthest to the rear. See if it will fit your Savage and it will probably let you know real quick.

Hello:

I just picked up a B&C Tactical / Varmint stock for my Model 12 FVSS .223 Savage. It also has three screws, the stock only had two screw holes. If you are missing the furthest back screw hole (the one at the back of the trigger guard), I used a 1/8" drill bit to drill through the plastic after I marked the screw spot with a silver-metallic Sharpie (through the trigger guard screw hole). I was then able to screw the back trigger guard screw into the stock without a problem. I did use my calipers to make sure that my screw was larger than my drill bit.

Regards,

Chizzy

Sure sounds like an ADL to me. But a call to Bell And Carlson would answer you question better.

Ok...took my Savage 300 WSM out of its stock, and it bolts up into this Bell/Carlson stock perfectly. I dont have any Rem ADL's, nor know what the distacne tween the bolts are so have no way of checking that.

Psychodog...if you are interested in the stock, I'll take 165 plus shipping for it. Thats what I have in the darn thing. Tan with Black Spider webbing....just a couple small knicks in the finish, nothing major.

Josh, I sent you a PM. Hope you receive it as I am computer stupid among other things. Anyway I'll take it. If you don't get my P.M. reply on this post and I'll try again.
