Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist A2

i like mine a lot, very rigid and well made. for the money it is an excellent stock. i use it on my long range 308 rifle. the fore end is a little on the wide side for off hand shooting but i use a bag, tripod or sticks so it is not a problem. another B&C stock you may want to look at is the M40 styled one, its a little more hunter friendly.

I have 4 of them....Three Long Actions and a Short Action....6.5X284, .280, .243, and .221. They are not benchrest quality, but for mid range I am VERY satisfied! Like the color choices also... I have the green w/black webbing, the tan w/black webbing, and two black w/gray webbing (which I like the best). The factory barreled .221 LVSF contour fits perfectly in the stock barrel channel, but I had to "haw out" alot to fit the Krieger HV contours into them... Great feeling "Anshultz Style" grip with palm swell and sits very flat on a padded shooting rail also.Hope this helps.
 
Pony what length barrel you got there. I ordered one for my Howa 22-250 with a 20" bullbarrel. Looks like a good stock for paper and hunting will let Yall know when I get it and shoot with it. I went with the tan w/ black web
 
Got one on my SPS Varmint in 243 win. It is heavier than the tupperwear stock and way sturdier. The square forearm is great for varmint or bench shooting with a bipod or front rest, but sucks on the sticks in my opinion. I make due, but the square front doesn't settle in the yoke well. My stock rifle was a drop in fit, but the rebarreled version didn't fit. My barrel channel float was good on the stock rifle. I couldn't afford $400+ for a stock, so the B&C was a perfect choice for me and my shooting style. I love the vertical grip and LOP.

I can like it for bench/prone, but for hunting/carrying there are far better choices for offhand/sticks.

Be careful of that monopod, Corey, mine tore the sling stud right out of the stock. Needless to say, I no longer own one

I haven't seen any trouble out of mine yet. I've had both front studs threaded in and out several times without trouble. I'm running an Atlas V-8 bipod with picatinny rail on it now and the rifle comes in around 15lbs. Crossed fingers, no pullouts so far. I did have to open my barrel channel and lug recess area for my new oversized lug and bigger barrel contour. She's going in the mail this week to be bedded to my action that is also getting Cerakoted. If she ever does pull out on me, to the curb she'll go.

Re-read, the rear stud hasn't been out yet. It seems firm. I'm torn on the monopod usage as I like the convenience, but like the bag for more pinpoint accuracy as that's what I've used for years. What brand pod were you using?

My .223 Howa 1500 heavy barrel in the B&C stock. It's very stiff and has that full aluminum block under the action and I have no need to glass bed mine. I'm getting .300 down to .231 100 yard targets off the bench with 50gr Nosler BT's and Varget. I carry it with an Outlaw Sling that has 2 shoulder straps. Yes it's heavy and would be hard to shoot off of sticks but I shoot off my knee so that's not an issue.

Same monopod you have. Believe it was an Accushot. It ripped the stud out of my A5 during a 600yd prone match! Simply from recoil. Thinking I shot less than 50 rounds with it. Was shooting a custom GAP 308. I believe Superseal110 and possibly Tim Nietzke were there to witness it..........
 
Well, les Baer uses b&c stocks on his custom bolt rigs, guaranteed to shoot 10 shot 1/2" groups @ 100 with match ammo.

That's a pretty big name resting his reputation on their stocks, it would be hard to argue that they aren't a good value.
 
i use the tactical medalist on my Savage .308 10FP-SR and i really like it, got the tan with the black webbing. heavy yes, but it rests on Primos trigger sticks like it was made for it. all dogs this winter beware!
 
Got the stock today. Other than a little dremel work to remove some material for the first stage of the safety it was a complete drop in. I'll post pictures tomorrow and hopefully shoot this weekend. I really like the stock so far.
 
my tang is not free floated all the way but sub moa leads me to the "if it aint broke, don't fix it" thing. barrel is equal on each side and floats all the way to the nut, no binding on the trigger guard at all, just the tang free floats on the very end, not all the way around it. heavy yes and with my heavy arse scope heavier, but i hunt on an ATV so i don't worry about it and it fits those primos trigger sticks so well!
