Benchmark In .223

Sierra is saying 27.1 H335.. for the 60's. I am a little skeptical. I have heard of guy's getting speed but not the accuracy they wanted with both powders. I guess its up to the reloader to figure it out.

Pahntr760- Have you tried any hotter loads with the Benchmark and the Game Kings, or did you stop at 25.5 grains? I picked up a box of the BTHP am going to load them with Benchmark.

It didn't like 26 gr, so I stopped.

24.0, 24.2, to 24.6g of Benchmark and 60g Sierra BTHP, all produced acceptable results in my Rifle and 24.6g matched the best accuracy of two other powders used, while leaving much less residue inside the bolt.
I bought 8 Lb, after that.

What are the barrel specs? In my 20in 8 twist I only had 3060-3075fps with the same bullet and charge weight. my accuracy was very good though.

I had seen a post from someone on another site that said he used 26 grains with 55 grain Game Kings in his AR. I believe he said with an 18 inch barrel. I knew it was over the maximum recommended. Thanks.

Max loads are subjective. I've run a few loads over max with no issues. The rifle will tell you when enough is enough.

I had awesome groups using 52 grain bthp match sierra's with a dose of 25.4 grains of benchmark in my rock river predator pursuit...
