I love this stuff. It seems that every load that i have worked up with benchmark shoot extremlly well. I use it for my 223's and my 22-250. I am having no luck what so ever with Varget except for one load in a 223. I am going to try it in my 204 ruger next. I havent had much luck finding that perfect load for my cz 527 204 ruger yet. Anyone else use benchmark? I am hoping that the 204 likes it as well as my other rifles. I can buy a 4 pounder and keep things a little simpler. Thanks Lee
 
Same here, I feed mine and a friends 204's both 26 gr of Benchmark with 35gr bergers and CCI BR4's. 1 rifle is a rem with a 24" tube and the other is a ruger with a 20" ultralight barrel. his liked a max load of 26.6 also, but we're averaging slightly under .5" 3 shot groups @ 26.0 grs. Try it you'll see. and don't be afraid to let those little bullets jump to the lands.

I've had a little better luck with RL-10 in 204. I'll try Benchmark again with the 30gr. Bergers this week. I've only used Benchmark with 32,40 VMax.

I just got a box of the 26gr. varmint grenades also. I don't really expect much as far as accuracy though. I just figured on loading about 25 after I load the Bergers.
 
I use Benchmark for my 223's and my 204. I find it works great, maybe not the highest velocities possible but the accuracy is more important, IMHO. Accuracy is extremely good for me in both of the above calibers. It also meters very well which is a plus from a charge thrower.
 
I use BenchMark in ALL my 223s and a 223AI, bullet weights from 50-75grns.

Great accuracy, great velocity, clean, consistant from lot to lot, easy to meter.

Win/win/win/win!!!

I never was happy with BenchMark in a 204, but RL10x on the other hand....Oh Ya!
 
Love the benchmark with the 32gr blitzkings outa my cz 527!!! saw the first groups and immediately ordered 8lb jug and 500 pack of bullets

working on the 39gr with 4895 but not near the accuracy as the 32gr's so far!!

I have tried the Benchmark and have nothing bad to say about it at all. But in my 223 rifles as well as my 17 Remington I have found nothing better than Varget. Yeah, I do get a studder every now and then with my powder dump, but to me that a tiny thing to give up for the fine accuracy that I get with this powder.

I may settle on Benchmark for my .204, but have not found a favorite powder for that one yet it seems.
 
Just making conversation, isnt that what we are supposed to do an an open forum. Sorry that i affend you so much didnt mean to. I like to talk about shooting and reloading. excuse me for asking a question that might help someone out thats new around here. Again White Eagle i am sorry!! Thanks Lee

Never used benchmark, but I may give it a try real soon. I've had real good luck with Varget in 223. 26-27 gns of varget pushes the 60gn vmax very accuartely. I list the charge giving a range because it varies from gun to gun 27gns is a max load for a 60gn vmax. My only complaint is case density is well over 110percent. You have to tap the case on the loading table to get the powder below the top of the case. I have a little bushy carbine that is now shooting .5" groups with 27 gns. 26.4 gns works well in most guns.
 
I had no luck with Varget in 223 except with 69g bullets, no luck with Varget in 22/250 or 243. I do look for 3/8" accuracy and varget with the bullets that I have shoot around 1".

In the 223 with 50 and 55g bullets, 748, 2015, benchmark, h322, n-133 and n-135 all performed better than Varget with the light bullets. Varget did excell with 69g bullets in the 700 sporter.

In the 22/250's, Varget shot 1" with 4 different kinds of 55's, other powders did better.

In the 243, varget shot 1" with the 70,75, and 80g bullets. IMR 4064 outperformed Varget with speed and accuracy in all these bullets listed above.
 
ackley man I have a rem 700 .243 with 80 gr nosler bal tips and 37.5 of varget it shoots real nice! I have found it doesn't like to be at max or real close to that 3200+ FPS I get my best accuracy at 3080-3100 FPS, that is what 37.5 grains of varget will do and at 200 yrds it will make a group under 1" for what it is worth.

I also noticed a differance in group size from switching brass in my .243 I started with winchester spent the money on Nosler and will use nothing else now! That nosler brass is so much more consistant than any of the reg factory stuff, sure you pay more but the quailty is top shelf and made my groups much better and more consistant.
