benchmark is too fast burning for the 22-250, try RL 15 in that application, I wasn't all that impressed with benchmark in the 223 but then again I am trying to run 3500 fps with a 50 grain bullet,
The only problem is, Benchmark is the only thing I can find. No one locally has any H322 or H335. Natchez and Powder Valley both have Benchmark in 8#. Have to order it that way to justify HAZMAT fees.
I have tried benchmark in several rifles and can't get it to work at all. What's up with that. 204 qnd 2-223's, very poor accuracy. Maybe I'm trying to push them to hard?
My AR really likes it........I'm still trying to find a load for my 12fv .204 though. So far, I'm having a tough time with the .204 getting it to shoot and I've tried it with 32gr VMax, 35gr Bergers, and 40 gr VMax's.
Best group with the AR, 23.5gr of Benchmark, 55gr VMax. Yep, there are 5 of em in there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
Nice group Rick..
My experiance's with Benchmark & two different 223's is the mild load's like Rick's shot the best.23.0-23.5 gr's might be the cat's meow with 55gr bullet's.Never tested for speed but the accuracy was superb.
Just my experiance's not what I read somewhere on the "net" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Benchmark works better than H335 for me in my CZ .223 with both 55 gr and 40 gr bullets. I also have great results with it in my .260 with 95 gr V-maxes
I have about 4 pounds of Benchmark, and am working up loads for my rifle now. My question is, how is the volocity with Benchmark? I want to get high velocity, but also good accuracy.
