I hunted with win 760 in 22/250 and 243 for 20+ years from Mexico, Ca, Nv, Az, never new there were any temp issues with it either. By what you read today, it is a wonder that I hit anything or did not blow myself up!
I use Varget in my 22-250 loads in the extreme weather up here in Minnesota, 100 degrees in the summer to -25 below last weekend, the same loads are for year round. That's part of the reason I go with Varget, for the Extreme temp swings, and the tight groups that I get from my loads.
My 1in12 twist Savage 22-250 likes 52's with 36.5 of Varget, and 55 BK's with 35.9 of Varget. (And that 35.9 in mine is doing 3,725fps). It likes Reloder 15 better for 50 BK's though where you can get those cooking up to around 3,900fps with RL15.
