BENELLI M4

Looking into buying an m4 to chase fox, some coyotes, and turkey. I did some searching and didnt really find an answer. I am looking to get an idea of how much range is being lost due to shorter barrel. I know it's choke and load dependent but that is not relevant for this question.

SORRY I AM A DUMB A$$. I was referring to benelli 18 in shotgun, and particularly the desert camo!!!

I'm confused. Do you mean m4 as in an AR? Or is an m4 a type of shotgun. Rifles don't have chokes. Turkey hunting with a rifle?

I have the M2 with an 18" barrel. I don't think your going to lose any range at all between it and a 24/26" barreled shotgun. No matter the length of barrel I've used in the past it seems my max range was 40 to 50 yards and I would try like [beeep] to get them closer than that.

Call Kicks for the choke. I'm using their ported "Howler" choke and Dead Coyote in T size shot and it patterns really nice.

Velocity testing on shotguns over the years has shown little to no velocity loss from 18" on up as a rule. I think I saw something where longer bbl's actually slowed it down a bit, but I would imagine that varies with powder burn rate?? Point - you'll never know the diff. Get one, pattern it with loads and chokes, go hunting. If you can afford one of those now. Nice weapon! That said, I prefer the inertia action Benelli's myself. Or the M3 if you really like unique!

My brother just picked one up a month ago out here in Wis. at a place called Midwest Shooters Supply. It came with a hard case, 5 chokes and the shims. $1,040.00,+ tx. At the time the guy said he had 3 more in stock.
