Benelli shotguns question

Hi guys and gals as some may remember I asked about buying a benelli m2 and ended up with a montefeltro. Well I thought i just absolutely had to have a mag tube extension and because the montefeltro seems to be the only benelli that you cannot put one on I sold it and purchased an m2. What a disappointment. My montefeltro shot poa where's I'd have to aim about 6-8 inches low at 40 yards to get my pattern where I wanted it with the m2,and on the m2 if I wanted to unload it by hand that little button next to the trigger guard had to be pushed in for every shell to eject, montefeltro - had to push it in 1 time to get it to load the first round.that m2 is gone because I wanted something that shot closer and it had a 28 inch barrel where's I really wanted something with a 22-24 inch so it would be more handy for home defense.
So my main question is.... if I bought a m2 with a shorter barrel is there still a good chance it will shoot ridiculously high ? Is there a remedy?
I understand I could buy a shorter barreled montefeltro but then there's no mag tube extension. Thanks all!

I would make a suggestion for your consideration, own one nice shotgun for hunting. Own a separate shotgun for home defense. I have a mossburg 500 and a Chinese clone of a 870 in my home, neither cost more than $200, and both have mag extensions. I am prepared to shoot my house all to pieces.

Did you use the stock shim kit to adjust your pattern point of impact to point of aim on the M2 you had?

And it works too.

I purchased the m2 and the montefeltro used.
Montefeltro came with shims but shot spot on without any adjustments. M2 didn't have extra shims.
So do you guys think that the shims can adjust for 5-6 inches at 40 yards?

So is it the middle of your pattern that is hitting 6" high at 40 yards?

You don't need to push the latch button to unload each shell. Rack the first one out and turn the gun upside down, push the loading gate /ramp down, then press in the feed latch and catch the shells as they come from the mag tube.

I've shot benelli nova ,super nova, SBE2 and M2. They all shoot high for me , being the way they are set up. Shims help and if you need more a larger bead up front too.

Yes the center of my pattern was 5-6 inches high at 40 yards.
Tim my thing is if I'm spending +/- 1,000 on a shotgun I honestly don't believe I should have to buy an additional accessory to make it shoot poa.
Now you want to choke a gun WAY down to get the tightest pattern possible? Sure I can see adding some extra sights but if the shims will correct an m2 enough to bring it down to 1-3 inches then I can probably live with that.

Your inexperience is showing. It's not uncommon for shotguns to shoot somewhat "off." Be glad Benelli has an easy and reliable method to fix the issue. Your problems are self inflicted. Because you didn't take the time to research the Monty or M2 the perceived problems aren't actually gun problems, it's your own lack of understanding the guns that is the issue.

Ok, so buying after market chokes $40-100 to get the perfect pattern is fine then ?
