Benelli shotguns

I've been looking around for a new general-purpose shotgun and was wondering if anyone was using a Benelli? If so, which model and what do you like/dislike about it?
 
Go M4, you have to look but you can find some 7+1 round models. I found one and I am in the middle of saving for it now. If it is good enough to pass the military's tests then it is good enough for me. It's currently the combat shotgun for the USMC.
 
I have the Left Hand Benelli Super 90 in 3.5 inch and i like everything about this shotgun and can't come up with any neg comment about the shotgun. I would rate it better than any other auto on the market reguardless of brand or where they are made. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Have a Benelli M2 12 guage field model, great gun. Light, shoulders well, simple to maintain, rarely needs cleaning, great shooter. Has less recoil than my friends semi-auto 20 gauge. This is my all purpose gun for upland, clays, etc. Best all around semi on the market IMHO. I don't use it for turkey because I have a Franchi 3 1/2" set up for that purpose that I bought before the Benelli - I wish I had gotten an SBE now after using the M2. No comparison.
 
I have a Super Black Eagle in black synthetic. It is a great minimal maintenance (goes boom every time)all around shotgun.
 
Any of the Benelli shotguns are great! I have been shooting a Super Black Eagle since around 1997. I would not consider another autoloader.

If you can swing the $$$, a SBE is the only way to go.
Great feel & balance for a 3.5" capable 12 gauge...it performs time & again without a hitch in tough conditions.
I just cleaned my 26" Super Black Eagle after two days of hot barreled waterfowling in the salt marsh. The design of the action offers a very simple takedown procedure allowing for quick & efficient cleanup. A big plus in my book.
Just switch out the choke tube and it is just as handy for rabbits and grouse up in the woods or with the red dot mounted on top for turkeys & predators.
The SBE cycles everything but the very lightest loads faster than any other shotgun out there. I've never had a problem with 2 3/4" heavy game loads on up to the heaviest 3.5" payloads.
 
I have an M2 and it the best shotgun I've ever shot. I hit more clays and swing on birds much better with it than any shotgun I ever tried period. Its also very light and recoil is very different than a gas operated. The barrel does'nt muzzle jump but just has a smooth push straight back when fired . I'd recommend it.
 
I hunt with guys that shoot sbe2 and they are very nice. They are light for a semi auto lighter then my 870's and they are very mild recoiling. Great guns they are.
 
I shoot a Supersport for trap, sporting clays and have even been known to take it hunting now and then. Its way to shiny but I shoot it well enough I hate to leave it home. The recoil, even with heavy 3" loads is hardly noticed. Love the ease of cleaning and the only time it ever jammed on me was with reloaded hulls that should of been tossed anyway. Love my Benelli

I have never felt under gunned or felt i needed the 3.5" shells . #" work just fine. M1Super90 steady grip turkey . Out fitted with an Eotech, mag extention and Carlson choke tubes.

I bought the Benelli Nova... cheapest black model...$299.98

got $376 total into it and I love it.

Put on home Camo job, super turkey choke, E.L.K. squeeker, a sling and Uncle mikes shell holder...

I bought a Super Black Eagle for waterfowl several years ago. After missing a number of easy shots I took it to the range and patterned the gun. At 30 yards the pattern was terrible and was 90% under the aiming point and 1 1/2 ft to the right. I contacted Benelli USA telling them of the problem. It was obvious that the chokes were threaded at an angle and that the barrel needed to be replaced. Benelli refused to make it right. I sold the gun at a big loss to a guy who wanted to put a tactical barrel on it and I bought a Winchester SuperX2 and haven't looked back. It's a great gun.

Now, I may have bought the odd lemon but the fact remains that Benelli USA let me down.
 
We have 2 14" M1 Super 90 entry guns and for the past 10 years have never given us a problem. Great shotgun if you have the money. I hunt with a Beretta A390 and love it too for half the price.
 
I have a Benelli nova that i won at a ducks unlimted meet a while back. I dont shot it to much, i shot an over and under browning, but my lil bro loves it. I do hunt with it when i figure the weather will be nasty though. makes me feel a lil better taking it rather than the citori, also like that it shoots 3.5".
 
You can't get something for nothing. The Benelli is lightweight and recoil operated, of course it kicks! An all steel gas gun that weighs an extra pound or so will recoil less. If ya want to tote that pig around over hill and dale.
 
ive got a nova and I love it I use it for ducks and geese and deer, I also have a soeger model 2000 I use on pheasants and its never failed me
