I went to gander mountain since I had some stuff to return (rainsuit that didn't fit) and as usual I ended up in the gun section.

I have been wanting a .22lr pistol for some time now and finally decided I was going to pull the trigger. I wanted to keep it under $300 so I had a couple options. A taurus snub nosed revolver ($299.99), Browning Buckmark (on sale for $299.99), a Heritage Rough Rider with the .22 mag cylinder ($259.99) or Beretta Neos U22 with the 4.5" barrel in black for $229.99.

I had never heard of the neos but I handled all of those guns, liked the way it fit the best and the price was the best as well. I had never heard of it before though so onto the blackberry for some google searching. Not really any negative things so I went back played with it some more and said ill take it. 3 days later (thanks obama and illinois) I picked it up took it home and started shooting.

It comes in an awesome navy blue beretta hard case, I popped that open loaded the 2 mags and just did a function test. shot through both in a safe direction with winchester 333 bulk hollow points. Not one jam, gun pointed well and the muzzle stayed on "target". Loaded them back up and did some plinking. I was hitting cans at 15 yards no problem my first day with a pistol. shot through about 100 rounds and put her away.

Set up the steel plates and me and my neighbor shot about 200 rounds the next day. Not one jam, FTF or FTE. Needless to say I love this gun but I haven't put it on a target to shoot groups yet. Ill try and do that this weekend and see how it does.

Looks like a squirt gun or something you'd see on a sci-fi movie. Check out that trigger guard and the steep grip angle!

At least it came with an awesome case, you can hide your pistol in there so nobody has to look at it.

I shot one of my friends' the other day and got a favorable impression. It looks a little radical for my traditional tastes, but it sure felt good to shoot and pointed pretty naturally for me.
