Best .308 load for wolf

Just wondering what .308 ammo i should buy for hunting wolfs. i would like it to be good at long range around 200 yards but have enough knockdown power to put one of these critters on the ground. My friends been having a [beeep] of a time with them killing his cattle and yes he has a special permit. Thanks

I think the 165 gr weight is ideal for the 308 Win. I would go with a 165 gr AB, it will punch a nice hole without excessive pelt damage. Plenty of retained energy for way out there too.

Yes, 165 or 150 would be my choice. I'd just take what I normally use for deer.

I like my 220 Swift, so the 308 is lots of gun with almost any game bullet.

Use the 150-165 grain SST's they will work awesome.

I've got a good load for 125gr noslers that should pop a wolf pretty good.
