Hello all looking for some 6.8 Mags 5 and 10 rounders for a rifle I just started to procure. I have never used this case before and have a 6x6.8 that will be shipped soon and need to order some Mags and did not know which type function well in these sizes. Thanks for the help.

I use ASC GRENDEL 6.5 magazines in all my 6.8 and 6.5 variants. They will let you load long and are very inexpensive. They have them in 5 and 10 rounds and larger. You can also get different colors.

I buy my grendel mags from 44mag.com. I haven't had any issues with any of them yet. their prices are reasonable and they've shipped promptly the times I've ordered

I am surprised lancer doesn't change the feedlips and follower on their mags so they can run 6.8. any idea what changes are made to the magazine so that it feeds 6.8 spc?

those ASC mags look kinda cool. they do offer quite a bit more length to seat your bullets out. any idea which mags offer the longest length to seat bullets out to? also how much extra weight is the stainless over the aluminum?

I don't have a clue about Lancer.

The ASC mags go to 2.316 nominal. No one else can load that long that I know of. Steel vs. aluminum weight? Since they don't come in aluminum it's a moot point. I guess you could go weigh some standard GI and the steel ones like Brownell sells to make a SWAG. I'm shooting varmint rigs up to 12 pounds and wouldn't notice an ounce or two. The steel mags don't bulge as easily as the aluminum and I like that.

I spoke with lancer before about 6.8 mag and emwas told no way they would make any.

Depends on the bullet. It's not the capacity that you need to focus on it's the ability to shoot longer bullets and get closer to the lands with shorter ones.

Cavity Back Bullets sells modified PRI mags. They cut the front out allowing for long loadings. I use PRI but not the modified ones. No complaints here. I can load to 2.3" but just barely.

I buy some from 44mag a good bit.
Primary arms had ASC 6.8 mags on sale for $7 not too long ago.
Only mags ive had issues with are PRI and CPD. ASC has been good ones and i can load out to 2.290 easy.

My experience runs counter to some posting here. I have had issues in several ARs, with ASC mags. I have 10 rounders used in a 204 Ruger, a 6mm WOA, and a 6.8 SPC. All of them bulged, and caused malfunctions. And yes they were the stainless steel varieties. For me PRI mags have been rock solid. I have five 10 rounders, and one 25 rounder, for 6.8 SPC cases, and variants, and have never had a magazine related failure that I can recall. I also have 5.56 versions used for the 204 Ruger, and a 223 Rem. chambered varmint style rifle, and again no issues with magazines. PRI's are not cheap, but I will pay for reliability. I was all excited about ASC mags, because of reviews here, and the lower price. But when I started using them, at my range, testing loads, and started to have feeding issues, I quickly lost interest in them. I tried giving them to my Son, for his 6.8 SPC, and he ended up giving them back, and ordering some PRI mags. YMMV

For high capacity mags, Barrett 30 rounders are rock solid, too.

I have had good luck with c products mags in my 6.5 grendel and i was told the pri 6.8spc mags are the cats meow in a grendel so i bought one to try. Worked terrible so i gave it to a friend. Now im building a 6.8spc. Hes a cool guy so im gonna call it a bday gift😜. I ordered more c products 6.8 mags since they seemed sturdy.
I only use 10round mags and considered 5 rounders. Are the 5 rounders smaller/lighter than 10 rounders? Or same size with a lower capacity

I have had really good luck with PRI mags. Made very well and have performed flawlessly in many types of conditions. However, they are a little pricey, to put it mildly.

I like PRI mags also. 6-7 years ago I read that SIG 5,56 mag worked.
So I bought a pair of them and the work real good. They hold 24 rounds I think.
