Best Caliber for Coyotes?

After shooting both the .223 and the 22-250 I cant justify the 22-250. I served in the US Army for 9 years and consistently could hit he 300 meter target with open sights. Your barrel will last longer and ammo is cheaper. I actually looked at the TC dimension rifle. You can change your calibers with just a barrel and bolt swapp. The barrels run about $200. I liked it except for the recoil pad. It has spacers so it's adjustable. Good idea I just don't like the way it looks.

I've been hunting yotes for the better part of 30 years. When I first started used a Ruger Mini 14 in 223.Did a lot of hunting in winter and off snow machines.I also bought a 22-250 Remington Varmint.Used to kill between 70 and 100 every year.Fur in the late 70's was $135.00 cleaned and streched.I was living in SW Montana in the Madison Valley. The coyotes were thick and a couple guys used to hunt them from a helo. They killed 1500 one winter and it did not seem to thin them at all.
I just bought an AR and a CZ527 Target varmint in 223.Should be all the medicine I need.By the way this is a cool site.
