Best Caliber for Coyotes

What do yall think is the best caliber for shooting coyotes with? I shouldn't be in too thick of woods but in woods never the less. Sometimes in bush hogged small fields. Thanks for info!

I prefer .223 or 22-250. That doesn't make them the best though. I've killed alot of yotes with my .223 so I'd say it's my favorite for 300 yards or closer. Shot one this morning at around 200 and it did just fine.

.22-50 is my go to but I live in open country.
If I was shooting under 300 a .223 might be ok.

My favorite drt caliber for coyotes is a 243 win. loaded with a 75g vmax. Not a good one if your saving fur. But it hammers them.

If you can shoot accurately then the 223 or 204. If you can place shots and can let some walk away because it isn't a good shot then the 17 Rem. But I rarely recommend the 17 cals if they are for beginners.

I prefere my Savage Axis .223 using 55 grain Hornady V-max bullets or my CZ Model 527 "Varmint" .204 using 39 grain Sierra Blitz King Bullets.Still trying to call in a Coyote,Bobcat or Fox with my Browning A-bolt Micro-Hunter.22 Hornet to see how it performs...I know it puts a big Ol full size Groundhog down.

I'm thinking the newly released 22 nosler will soon be a favorite. I know I will be putting together another upper for RRA ATH as soon as I can find a barrel.. With ballistics nearly comparable to the 22 250 but out of an Ar 15 platform and 18 inch barrel.. Why not????

.22 Hornet, soft points. Plenty of gun! I killed two this morning with one, and sewing is minimal.

Avg distance I've killed a predator at is 150 yards. 223 is what I have gone with the most (bolt action sporter weight rifles) Killed some with 243 and 260 too, very effective but ugly damage!
