Best camo pattern for blending into CRP grass?

Up until this point I've been using Mossy Oak camo for hunting deer and coyotes. I'm wanting to get something different when coyote hunting off the ground. I hunt most of the time along field edges that are edged with CRP grass. I'm sure there are other camos that will blend in better with the light colored grass than the dark Mossy Oak that I've been using.

I'm considering M2D, King's field shadow, and Natural Gear.

Any experience with these?

Any others to consider?

What would work best in this? -->

I'm not excactly sure what it's called, but it's a tan Army digital camo pattern, Man oh man I bet that would be the ticket ! I bought some pants at a surplus store out here for 20 bucks.

Check out M2D camo. It would be perfect for grass. It will blend in well. I recently got some and have not tried it in the field much yet. They have pictures of the camo in different vegetation on their web site. M2D www.m2dcamo.com

Mossy Oak Brush has been one of the most versatile patterns available for our area. Photo comparisons side by side other patterns show it to be a winner even in settings outside it's color range.

Recently I purchased Mossy Oak Duck Blind for situations like your photo. It has proven to be very good. So it is Brush pants & Duck Blind coat for the kill.

I also have the Tan Digital Camo an find the color to be a little too bright.

I'm just going to get a coat for now and still use my MO bibs with it. I'll be sitting on the ground, so the lower half shouldn't be as important.

I think M2D would work well, but the prices they are asking seem pretty high.

I'm thinking something like the MO Brush or Duck blind would work pretty well.

Using your picture for a guide...I'd say Ninja Black.

I know our CRP in the fall/winter is basically a tan/mottled/earth tones color. Carharts work just fine but we also use Desert Shadow and digital desert patterns.

Levi,

I've hunted a bunch of land just like that in IL and IA. Carhartt pants and Mossy Oak Brush shirt was my favorite. The same combo with M2D or Duck Blind or Field Shadow would work great as well.

I have a desert (non digital) camo cover that I carry in the truck for environments like that, wear my usual stuff and pull that on if I need it.

Well, I went with the MO Brush. Cabelas has a lightly insulated jacket on sale for $40. I bought it a couple sizes big so it will go over my heavy hunting coat. I did the same thing with snow camo coveralls and it works pretty good over my regular deer hunting gear. Hopefully I'll like it, then maybe go with a dedicated coyote coat someday. Thanks for the advice.

i hunt in alot of the same stuff and i made a ghillie out of an old pair of coveralls, rafia, some old burlap feed sacks and some grasses from where i hunt and it works great

Hey Levi, if we ever get together we could not only go hunting but also compare camo since we hunt the same stuff! I really like my leafy wear in Natural Gear camo. I also have a pair of coveralls that is made of guillie material and also is scent lock, it is in Mossy Oak Brush camo, havent even wore it yet because I dont want to spend the next few days picking burs off of it!

I think M2D is your best bet for what you described. I have hunted with Sparky and his Pro Staff, and you don't know how good M2D is until you watch someone else hunt in it.

I get people commenting on mine all the time when they see me walking out of the brush.
