Best camo patterns???

I love to wear surplus BDU's and such that I pick up from our supply store here in Bend. But here is a great quote from a post by ICMCumin in December.

My Dad always used to tell me "If you don't move, it doesn't matter what kind of camo you wear, and if you do move it doesn't matter what kind of camo you wear. Keep still and stay in the shadows".
I think that pretty much sums it up and has helped me to can the habit of spending $100+ a pair on camo clothing!

Hey davr, speaking of the north country, tiger stripe bdu's work real well in the Pinions.

A couple of old fellers up here, who won't post on the 'puter, say fadded Carharts is the only way to go. They blend everywhere, and you don't mind crawling around in 'em. I buy into the hold still, and it don't matter what'cha wear, theory. But then, hey, a little break-up never hurt anybody!

How about Carharts, bowhunting for deer from a tree stand?

My brother was headed into a tree stand in some cottonwoods on the river. The leaves are still on the trees and only just starting to turn. the rest of the cover is green thorn bushes to 12 feet high.

As he was leaving his truck, a big game guide and hunter pulled up to say hello. They asked where he was planning to go and when he told them , the guide said he'd had his client in there the day before and he'd seen nothing.

They then asked him what kind of camo he was going to use. He said "I'm wearing it." His faded Carharts. They chuckled and wished him luck.

An hour later he was dressing his 3X3 muley buck.
He had passed on several does and smaller bucks. The movement thing is critical. Color/pattern...I don't know.

for your neck of the woods i would suggest praire ghoust. I have never personally tried it but have only heard good things about it. They have it at Cabela's if you want to check it out.

I am planning to order some this fall because next year I plan on going to wyoming to hunt pronghorn and maybe rid the world of a few varmints, never hunted praire dog but sounds fun, may also see if the western coyotes really are much smaller than the ones we have here.
