Best copper removing solvent

Montana Extreme copper killer on a Montana Extreme plastic brush will clean the crap out of barrel in just a few minutes!

Never figured out how to soak, I just made a whale of a mess all over the place...learning curve is a real drag sometimes...not easy being me.

Kg12 is a shore nuff different product. Patches don't like to absorb the stuff, and the next morning, it looks like your barrel puked corn flakes....learning curve again...I am probably beyond help....that is what the wife says.

I like this stuff:

For years Hoppe's #9 with the yellow label was all I used and though it took a long time accuracy in my rifle dropped off from copper buildup.I tried a couple others but Wipeout foam was the one that did the trick.

Was talking to some one else that said the same thing. But just said that some one else told him the same. Just was wondering if there was a logical reason. As when they came out they were supposed to be the cats meow. (No pun intended Cat )

Take care, Willie

Sweet's 7.62 and Butch's bore shine are all I use but do not leave any in the barrel. Make sure you get it completely out or it will pit the steel.

I bought boretech eliminator and wipeout at the same time to compare. Tried the boretech first, it's working so well I haven't tried the wipeout. If I don't feel a gun is fouled much (as in break-in) I might just use Hoppes #9.

KG-12 is your solution.

What would be the cause of "risking reproductive problems"?

Butches Boreshine worked wonders on a troublesome gun of mine.
However, during the process one of my gloves got a small puncture hole in it, and I have been fighting a rash on top of my hand ever since. Started about the size of a dime, now it is over an inch long. When they say to wear gloves, they are not being over cautious.
The rash is a small price to pay for a clean, great shooting gun though.

Can't add to what's already been said but out me down for wipeout and butch's. It's some pretty good stuff.

Like pydpiper said, wear your gloves. Butch's is pretty abrasive.

I have Tetra Gun foam spay that's not a copper remover is it. I have sweets and h#9 and butches. Do I put the foam down the barrel and use a wire brush a few times and run patches thru it until I get it clean then run a oil patch down it. Am I doing it right.

Here is a home brew recipe. Use before any carbon cleaning solution ie; Hoppes.
2 parts 10% janitorial ammonia
1 part soapy ammonia
1 part Ivory dishwasher soap
Works for me.

Who makes the best foam spay? I have used the sweets a few time. I am afraid I won't get it all out. Can ya tell me by steps to make sure I am doing it right. Do ya use a wire brush at first. I am not stupid I just want to make sure I do the right steps to my new 204 and when I get my 22 250 AI barrel on. Ty

When they get really dirty, I plug the chamber and let the barrel soak in solvent for a day or two. Usually Hoppe's #9 or KG-12

Do you mean that you basically fill the barrel up with solvent, let it soak, then drain it?

It is what he means. And you'll need a chamber plug to do this. I use disposable pipettes to fill the bore. Works very well.
