Best handgun for hunting for the price?

Super Redhawk 9 1/2" in 480 ruger. Plenty of knock down power! As for a budget friendly gun Blackhawks are hard to beat!

I've got a Super Blackhawk 10 1\2 inch barrel, accurate as I need it to be. I've been told from the gun shop I got it at that they target shoot out to 100 yards with one.

If it's for primary hunting I think a 44 mag is hard to beat. As far as backup carry gun. I carry a G20. 10mm with good ammo or handloads is a awesome gun. And can be had for 500 bucks

Ruger black hawk ss 45 colt for 500.7 1/2 barrel with 255 Kieth bullet 25.5 gr w296.350 primer .I don't play with my S&W 629 it doesn't like hot or big loads.

One handgun for everything= tc contender in 35rem 2x burris . I am not in love with my encores.
A hunting revolver= super blach hawk hunter, 180grn to 300 hard cast all work good, 2x burris
Gary reeder custom sbh in 475 linebauh would be super cool but not in my budget

Well....I have a S&W 629 Classic 44 magnum. Not long ago I was also looking for a good "buy it one time" hunting handgun for boar, bear and deer. I really love the gun now, but I didn't when I first got it and I think most of us would have sent the thing back or just got a refund and bought something else. It is very accurate {now} and yes, it does have a very nice trigger.
It had a lot of simple, ridiculous problems that are just inexcusable. The front sight was angled off to one side...I had to turn the barrel until it was straight. The muzzle crown looked as if two rabid chimpanzees' with a bit brace and a hammer tried to cut it...after they polished off the bottle of crown royal. I had to take the barrel off and put it in my lathe. The forcing cone looked as if it was a fine thread of some sort.....another trip to the lathe to fix that. Come on sick, stupid people...S&W has been making revolvers for over a hundred {100} years and you absolutely cant get this stuff right yet????? They have zero problems raising their prices!!!!! They hit that nail on the head every time!!!! It's as if somebodies lazy, worthless, alcoholic nephew needed a job....unless you are a gunsmith and can immediately rebuild the entire gun, buy something else!!!!

Its kind of funny that this thread is a year old and the original poster has never come back to clarify his original request, ie: "what are you going to hunt with it".
