Best handheld thermal scanner in 4K range

I am not sure if there is a thread on this, but I have been out of the game for a couple years. I assume thermal handheld technology has improved and am curious what you guys are liking.

In my opinion, the best scanner at 4K and below is the Bering Optics Phenom 12 µm 640. It has the image quality of what you would expect from Trijicon and Nvision units at less than 50% of the cost. It has a 4-year, transferrable warranty.

The Pulsar Helion2 XP50 is a nice scanner and is right at the 4K range. The Flir Scion has some 640 units that seem to get good reviews as well. For the price you are looking for get the Phenom and get it from Night Goggles that way you have 7 days to use it and if it isn't as good as I am saying, return it.

Price: Phenom is $1,200 less expensive.

Image: Should be similar as they both use a 12µm 640 IRAY Sensor, but the Phenom has a 10mm bigger Germanium lens. Typically a bigger thermal lens yields better image and better performance in humidity.

Warranty: Phenom 4 year warranty compared to 3 on the MH25.

Service: Phenom serviced in TX. MH25 I believe have to be sent overseas or replaced as I don't believe there is any service option in the US for iRay, but this could have changed.

Size: If looking for a helmet mounted solution, the MH25 is a better option. For handheld, I prefer the shape of the Phenom, but both are small and light.

You have valid points; I only use scanners helmet mounted, holding a scanner isn't for me. I was hypothetically comparing the iray mh25 to the hogster; I have never used a phenom.

The iray has a better picture than the hogster by a wide margin. My hunting buddy and I have had no trouble out of the iray's so far, haven't been using them but roughly 7-8 months, but they have been good to go so far.
