Best lens cover??

I've got some bushwacker flip up lens cover on my yote rig and ever time I go to flip up the objective cover the whole thing just comes off. Dont have a problem with the eyepiece one it works like it suppose to. My question is whats the best lens cover out there? Does the flip up ones protect any better than the bikini ones? Cause I sure like how much faster I can be ready to shoot with them.

Alright so this is probably gonna be a dumb question but my scope is a 4-16X44 so I know when it asks what size I want I pick the 44 size for my objective but since the eyepiece is smaller how do I figure out what size the eyepiece is?

The Butler Creek flip covers have a size chart printed on the back of the package so you can tell exactly what size you need by matching up the outside diameter of any scope.

Those Butler Creek flip up's are the only way to roll. I have tried a few different kinds and the BC's seem to work the best. Some of the cheaper one's with the 'see thru' lenses are so bad that I have had the lenses fall out during recoil.

I have Butler flip ups on all my scopes.They're great but over time if you don't catch the cap as it swings up it can break off.I had to replace one because of this.
 
So, you're saying stay away from the Butler Creek Blizzards?

I was going to try them because, the thumb release on their regular flip-ups, have caught me on the nose.
 
This is probably a good thread to make another suggestion...

Almost all good scopes are threaded. A perfect lens protector would be a camera type glass "Skylight" or clear "UV" filter that would seal the scope lens from all dirt. Camera filters can be purchased for as little as $5 and if they ever become scratched can be quickly replaced with a new one for a minimal cost. Camera filters are also threaded in such a way as to be able to accommodate sun screening tubes if the threading were correct.

The scope would always be open and available for use without the noise of a flip-up or the hassle of the rubber cover falling off or breaking off. The low cost of the glass filter would allow it to simply be wiped off when dusty without fear of scratching it.

I searched high and low for a camera lens filter that would fit the front lens of the various scopes I use from 40 to 55mm.... The major hang-up was the thread type the manufactures of the scopes choose to use are different than camera filters...

I'm thinking that if enough of us requested our scope manufactures use a threading of the same type camera manufactures use it could certainly solve the protection and ease of use problems many of us have with current scope covers...
