In the picture above is one of my rattle can paint jobs. I just paint the whole gun one color and then put stripes with two different colors on the first color. I don't use stencils.

Derby that's exactly what I did just with a kryptic style stencil. Layed the tan dn,then brn,then green. I think the key is what you mentioned about hittin it with stripe passes.

It takes me way longer putting masking tape on the parts I don't want paint on, than it takes me to do the actual paint job.
