Best predator hunting pack

Edited:

Anyone know of a pack with SlyDog like kickstand back, a seat and a scabbard? Just searched the previous poster's description and found what he wrote of. Good find. Any comparable made by others..

Found the thread on an image search so apologies if this thread's old as hell. Might be nice to pull it forward for updates..

I use the Slydog pack and chair combo. The pack is large enough to hold E-callers, decoys, or whatever you may need, the ground chair works awesome. Thick butt pad and back rest with fold out rear legs. I'm real happy with it.
I too really like the Slydog ground and pound pack/seat, for me the back support is priceless. before it I ether had to have a taller chair or roll around on the ground to get feeling back in my legs before standing up.

have you ever tried strapping a tripod on a Slydog, wondering how that would work?

Lately, I've been frustrated with my lack of organization when I go out hunting. I've come to the conclusion that I either need a good hunting pack to carry gear out into the field, or I'm carrying too much junk with me and I need to leave some of it behind.

When I go out, I'm usually carrying the following:
Rifle
Shooting sticks
E-Caller
Browning Strutter folding chair
Mojo Critter Decoy

So - am I trying to carry too much around? If not, whats the best pack for carrying my gear?
I have an SOG Ninja day pack and love it, straps are very comfortable under weight. Very durable, robust zippers, amazing quality for the cheap price, and the buckle straps on the sides are great for my chair, and sometimes I clip a rear bag or even my foxpro in them.

I think I’m going to try to piece together another pack soon. I’m using the eberlestock X2 euro now and it’s nice but I don’t love it.

Going to get a eberlestock main frame and put one of their gun scabbards on it. Thinking about trying to mount my lucky duck stadium chair onto the metal frame so I can just flip it around and sit on the pack. If that doesn’t work, then no big deal, I’ll have quick access to pulling the stadium chair off the frame, without having to unzip a bag. The stadium chair has a pouch to hold my call so no need to make a ton of noise unzipping and digging in a bag.

The stronger frame will help to strap coyotes to the pack and carry them out instead of dragging (especially when I have more than two coyotes). Ran into that problem last year when on long walks in badland and cactus filled country. Still not a fan though of skinning them off of fence posts.

For the Eberlestock brand there are a few to choose from. I'd carry bolt action some days, ARs at other times. Would also carry a tripod, e-caller & padded seat. So what model works good for that? Is it the x31 lodrag?

I run the Gunslinger 2, it is about perfect in size capacity and built well.

Here is my setup it is made by Summit. I has good storage pockets it is fairly light and gets my butt off the ground. I use the Swagger bipod with this. Pictured with my Savage 243 here but I have about 5 others all setup the same way so I just grab the rifle I want and go. I can setup quickly and quietly. My only dislike is the metal frame, I cannot carry my gun on the sling over my shoulder because the gun bangs against it. I have a sling setup on my AR'S where I can carry them up front. I just leave the bipod at a preset length and detach/attach at setup/breakdown.

First picture is back pack mode. It unfolds to seat mode pretty quickly/ quietly.

I'll tell you guys this. This is a tough crowd!!! I have posted pictures of my good looking animals and guns, and not one comment on any of them! The Bird dog was bought for pretty big money to me as a pup, Bullit the cat was brought up to the back door starving by his ugly mother and the gun was my improvement out of a Tupperware stock. Enjoy the pics.
Now I don't care what you say But I think I got a good looking set of Aminals as my grandson refers to them!

Some nice packs here. I made a seat/pack from white corrugated plastic and vinyl that holds all my stuff and double up as a seat with a back rest. Works well.

What kind of dog is that? Looks like some sort of setter. Does it hunt?

You are correct an English Setter and he hunts well. 25 champions in 5 generations. He is the son of Pure Hank out of the Shamrock Bloodline, He is the Happiest animal I've ever been around, a pure joy to own.
