Looking to buy a new {or used??} progressive reloader. Will mostly use it for pistol ammo but may load some .223 and .308 too. Dont really care much about factory warranty claims.....I am more worried about smooth, quick trouble free operation. I have read all the ads but would greatly appreciate hearing from actual users. What do you have and what do and dont you like???? Thanks in advance for reading this and comments.

I have a Lee 1000 for my pistol and for the cash investment it is pretty reliable. If I had more money, I'd look at the Dillons just for speed and volume. I can load the .223 on my Lee, but think the .308 would require a different press due to case length.

I love my Dillon 550B!!!! Never used another progressive though, so I can't compare it to anything. I will say that their customer service is TOP NOTCH! I bought a floor model and was missing the whole primer feed assembly, and they sent me a new one at no charge.

Dillon 650XL auto case, power case trimmer, I load a lot of .223 and .308 wouldn't think of doing mass loading on a single stage press.

I agree-------------Dillon========Great for Pistols.

Since it was raining here last Saturday, I loaded 200 rounds of 357Mag in no time at all. I am not very fast, so I guess I better say that I "leisurely" did it in less than 1+ hour, which is way off what's possible. If I could keep from mixing up my 357s and 38s, I'd be much faster.

One of these days I should change my handle from Bigdog2 to BigHammer because I sure like to use that green impact hammer to break apart rounds.

I have looked at the Dillons a buddy of mine had one they are slick smooth and fast as a greesed pig, Hornady has some nice looking progressives out now that are a little cheaper than the Dillons. RCBS makes a Piggyback for the rockchuckerand a couple of other presses that is a lot cheaper but never heard of anyone using it.

I have a hornady progressive and have used it for quite a while. works pretty well and quite a few dollars less than a dillon. I have thought about getting a 550 dillon a few times, but the hornady reloads several hundred 223 rounds in an hour so why replace it?

I have a Dillon 650 and 1050. The 1050 does all pistol and some short rifle cartridges - .223, 7.62x39. The 650 does all the other rifles. I also have a Rockchucker that I use when I am doing a small run of rifle cartridges. I like the 1050 best of all.

When it comes to progressives, there is really only one.....Dillon. Any thing else is a poor imitation. Pistol,revolver,rifle or shotgun, the Dillon handles them all.
