Best red dot sight/scopes

I'm looking into getting a red dot for my 12 gauge. I hunt both day and at night with lights. It will also be doubling as my turkey gun.. I know EOTechs and aimpoints are the best, but honestly they are in my budget as a college kid. What are your suggestions for under $200? Or at least in that area.

I know it sounds ridiculous, and I am going to get flamed for even saying it. I am running Trashco 42mm red/green dot optic on my Tactical Turkey 500 12ga and it has performed quite well for turkeys. I have it on a Bsquare mount and it has never lost zero. Here is another ridiculous thing- my friend swears by the BSA red dots for turkey shotguns. I have honeslty never seen an issue with them when using them on shottys for turkey and coyotes. I just dont think you need an EOTech, trijicon, or Aimpoint when running for thunder chickens and song dogs.

I have had a Bushnell Trophy and a Tasco Red Dot both fail miserably on hard kickers. I would never buy another of either.

I believe the Tasco Pro Point series is a better product than their Red Dot series.

I have also used a BSA and a Truglo. Both sucked, IMO.

For around $200, I would be looking at a Burris, Vortex, or Sightron....

I've tried a bunch and they all performed adequately.
I have a LaserAim on my Redhawk. A Redfield and a BSA on a couple different T/C barrels. A BSA on my Ruger Mark II. They all work.

Hate to admit, but the tasco pro point i bought 15 years ago is still dumping critters. Mounted on a 17 HMR revolver, so recoil should be no prob. Don't know how it would handle the recoil from a measly shotgun. The other red dot i have used is a zeiss. My buddy has it on a 22 pistol. Really like the tiny dot it has but the view is small. Been fingering the fast fire idea for a couple months now. I think my side by side 12 ga. would be a fun project with that and slugs for deer. With open sights it usually puts both rifled slugs into a 3" circle at 50 yards. I like to think of it as a poor mans double rifle.

Here it goes.....Center Point! $30 at Walmart, almost zero distortion/parallax, and seems to hold a zero well! I've used one on the AR and the Mini, and it holds up well for a cheap sight!

I too experienced less than adequate results from the Bushnell trophy. I found the dot even on the highest settings to be too dim in bright snow covered operations.

Predatorhunter223, here are some of my turkey and yote guns the fast fire 2 or 3 with the marlin 336 mount or the burris speedbead mount is the way to go if your on a budget. The eotech is my favorite and is rock solid but as you already know is double the price of a fastfire.
