Looking for a little help. I am looking to buy a handgun for around 300. I was leaning towards the keltec pf9 but am weary of not having an actual safety. I would like a concealed and carry size or sub-compact. What would y'all recommend? Woul like to buy new. Thanks

Not extremely picky on caliber. That's my bday budget and I want something small size wise. After this one next on my list is an xd. Thanks

Kinda depends on chambering of choice but I have a Ruger P95 that I got for a little more than that. Shoots excellent, kinda bulky, not a conceal gun by any means but it goes bang evey time and its actually very accurate.

Unfortunately in todays world $300 doesn't buy a whole lot of gun and definitely not anything on the top shelf.
I like the XD idea but you need twice as many bones.

keep in mind this is above the budget but good lesson I think. I bought the ruger LC9, great little gun, but I didn't feel I have enough rounds, and didn't at all like all the safties, when I want a gun to go bang it better go bang. So I sold it, and bought a Glock 19, best gun I've ever owned, it is my ccw, and I love it. I know the xd is supposed to be a good gun, just think if you want all those safties makin sure the gun dosen't shoot.....

ProMag has 10rd mags, but I can't find the grip extender to go over it. Got a paddle holster for it from OpticsPlanet for about $20.

Happy Birthday!!!!

Does the LCp have a safety? With all the kids we have I feel better about having a gun with safety. They are always locked up at home but just another precaution I like to take

The Ruger P95 is a great choice for around $300. With a good pancake holster like the Desantis Speed Scabbard it make a great concealment weapon also.
I normally carry a 1911 of some variation but sometimes carry my P95.

The ruger lc9 does have a saftey but its a little more then you were looking to spend. I got mine for around $400 tax and all. Its a nice size to carry if you ever wanted.

I love my PF9.
Decent accuracy.
Very nice and compact.
Adj rear sight.
Full size 9mm round.
Feeds hollow points 100% if you don't limp wrist it.
The long trigger pull is your safety.
Just don't be finger banging the trigger while it's in your pocket holster and you'll be fine.
The internal hammer doesn't cock until the trigger is pulled.

border line cc, but with the right rig very good,a ruger p95 9mm, can be had new for around 300, @gun shows. i paid 375 for mine at a gun shop, 3 weeks later found them by the dozens at the gun show for 275, good shooters ie. my wife shot a 236/250 1st qualify round, 1st time in her hand 1st bullets through the barrel, they're a little stiff new but after 1500 rounds they settle in like any new pistol.....i think ruger still makes a quality fire arm. i couldn't say about the compact but you could try one and see.

The lcp is a good little gun but is really only good for arms-length use when under stress. You would have alot more fun and get more use out of something like the ruger p95, or SR9/40 compact or spend a little more and buy a Glock. There are good used Glocks to be found for around $400. They may in fact be better than the new ones. You can easily and cheaply replace all the springs and have an as-new functioning gun. If you really want a good concealment gun that you can hit longer range targets with and count on I recommend the G26/27 9mm/.40cal. guns. They may be harder to find used though.
