Best semi auto handgun for $300

Most t-shirts don't work for the glocks for me either. But a loose fitting button up camp-shirt or whatever they are calling them hide them very easily. especially if you get one with a plaid or striped pattern to further hide printing. And these shirts are very comfortable in hot weather if you get the right material. I wear them for farm work in 100 degree heat and prefer them to sticky t-shirts.
 
I have a lcp in my pocket everyday every where I go. If you are looking for a pack gun for that budget, look at smith and wesson sigma. I know this will get bashed, but I had one and it never gave me any problems. reliable accurate high capacity and two magazines in your price range. Good luck to ya. I would not rely on a gun with a safety to keep children safe around a firearm. Education is the answer here, keeping a weapon hidden only creates curiosity, and you know what happens to the cat then.
 
My experience was the opposite with the smith sigma. It didn't ignite about 1 out of 50 primers. It made me doubt sw semis. Glad to here it isn't all of them.

I also agree that a safety isn't a safety for people, just AD's.
 
My brother in law is selling me his xd-9 4" service model basically in my budget. I cant pass it up I have wanted an xd for a long time. Will pick up a keltec later I hope.

For your price range I wouldn't look any further than the Sig 250. Available in multiple calibers and configurations. Hi cap mags, modular capability. Reliable function and accurate. I think it would fit your ticket just fine.
Purchased a 250 9mm for the warden this week. She can manipulate the slide, and shoot it like a champ. 16 rounds for her in her moment of need. Night sights. She is GTG.
Give it a look, I think you will be impressed.
 
What ever you make a decision on, if it is not comfortable to carry, you will leave it home in a drawer.

The Kahr CW series in 9,40, and 45 are exeptionally accurate and are very easy to conceal. I just loosen my belt and stick the muzzle in the watch pocket of my jeans.

For you 45 freeks, you need to treat yourself to a Kahr CW 45, you will NOT believe how accurate this pistol is!

A springfield XD subcompact is a great carry gun. I am 5'11 160 pounds and I carry a springfield xd sc 40. The holster and belt are the key. Crossbreed supertuck deluxes are great holsters and very concealable and comfortable. A nice thick gunbelt really is worth it too.

I wear jeans and t-shirts often with no issues.

I have learned a few lessons over the years. Dont put a cheap scope on an expensive rifle and dont put a expensive pistol in a cheap holster.
 
For the money I like the bersa, we've got 2-380s and a 9mm,looking for a .45,I have several pistols and revolvers.Colt,Ruger,S&W, and the Bersa pistol is my favorite,I wear the 9mm every day.

I am really surprised there was not more support for a Kahr. I picked up my cw9 for $350. Shoots great and is very concealable. A little too big for pocket carry in jeans without printing but can easily be done in a jacket pocket. This gun is very concealable yet large enough to enjoy shooting it. I have been very pleased with it.
 
Kahr is a great little handgun. I have two, both of them stainless steel with night sights. One is my K9 and one is my wife's Lady K9. They are just super guns. In fact, I intend to buy a P9 this summer.
 
You will not be unhappy with that purchase! This is what I carry and I love it. If you wear more leisure and sports clothes like foxy mentioned it won't be as forgiving but with the right holster and placemnent I do not feel my XD at all I forget it is there most of the time.

My suggestion to you was going to be what the cop that taught my conceal carry class told us. Look at guns that do NOT have and additional saftey get one that has a saftey built into your traditional firing routine like the XD or Glock. The other thing he said is that an extra saftey is not what you look for to keep your kids and family safe, EDUCATION is the only answer to this problem. He even said to leave the gun around the house (Empty of course) after training them and if they do not come running to you telling you there is a problem that a gun is out when they find it you need to retrain them.
