Best semi auto handgun for $300

I just bought a used XD40 for $325 locally, made Dec 2011 and fired very little.

I got it at the last gun show, it was the essentials model, lock, 2 mags, cleaning brush and paperwork, but I couldn't pas up the price.

You have probably already set your mind, but if you are still looking, for reliability, I would recommend looking at a used Smith and Wesson revolver. You can pick up a police trade in model 10 from buds gun shop for 269.99 which is a .38 special. Or if you can find one in your area, a used model 36 with a 1 7/8" barrel or 3" if you would rather, they make great carry guns. I really like all of the older Smith and Wessons. Or if you are looking more at a semi auto, one of the steel framed autos are great, I picked up a model 39-2, which is a 8 round 9mm with 5 mags for 300 dollars. And it is a sweet shooter! Anyways, enjoy whichever route you go!

I'd recommend you the CZ82. I have two of them and they are good for carry given its size and yet 12-round mag.

CZ82

You can pick them up for as cheap as $180 when they are on sale.

It is chambered in 9mm Makarov, which is between .380 and 9mm Parabellum. This pistol has an amazingly sweet trigger pull in both double and single action mode. It is cheap enough that if you lose it you would not feel too painful. If you ever have to draw your weapon to defend yourself, most of the time you do not get it back from the police even if the court finds the shooting justifiable self defense.
